Explanation:
Requesting authorization to enter into a Contract for Consulting/Professional Services (the "Contract") with Actuarial Concepts, Inc., (the "Consultant") pursuant to which the Consultant is to provide actuarial services to the City for Fiscal Year 2015.  The amounts to be paid by the City under the Contract are based on hourly rates specified in the Contract, and the total amount to be paid is not to exceed $75,000.00.      
 
Section 38.40 of the City's Purchasing Ordinance exempts from the competitive bid and competitive proposal requirements contracts for professional services involving peculiar skill, ability, experience or expertise, which are in their nature unique and not subject to competitive bidding or competitive proposals.
