Explanation:
The State Legislature has enacted legislation that requires all candidates for state offices to file their campaign treasurer reports electronically with the Department of State. In addition, the State Legislature enacted legislation for cities to allow their candidates to file campaign treasurer reports electronically, as long as each City adopts such legislation.
This ordinance, when enacted, will allow our City candidates to file campaign treasurer reports electronically with the City Clerk.
The City is committed to using and implementing technology to improve government efficiency and to make government more user-friendly whenever possible.
