The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded its Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Hollywood's 2012 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. The GFOA is a non-profit professional association serving 13,500 government financial professionals with offices in Chicago, Illinois, and Washington, D.C.
As evidenced by the receipt of this award, our professional staff was successful in meeting the high standards of the program, demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate the City's financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
