Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:
On February 16, 2022, pursuant to Resolution No. R-22-039, the City adopted an Americans With Disabilities Act ("ADA") Transition Plan. The plan identified the need to complete additional facility assessments to identify architectural barriers and provided a list of projects, that when implemented would provide access to persons with disabilities.

The City remains committed to ensuring equal access to City facilities and services and to further the intent of the ADA. On September 21, 2022, the City contracted with Kimley Horn and Associates to complete the additional facility assessments and update the ADA Transition Plan.

The updated ADA Transition Plan provides a roadmap for the City to utilize and set priorities, and the Plan provides a list of projects, estimated budgets, and an implementation schedule for removing barriers that prevent access to City facilities for persons with disabilities.

In order to move forward with the ADA Transition Plan and apply for various funding opportunities, staff recommends the City Commission approve and adopt the Updated ADA Transition Plan.

Fiscal Impact:
Implementation of the ADA Transition Plan will require ongoing capital investments. Funding has been appropriated and exists in the account number 117.149901.54100.531300.001498.000.000 and additional funds will be requested in subsequent fiscal years' budgets to continue the Transition Plan for the next five years to comply with ADA requirements.
