The Influent Pump Station at the Southern Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant is a critical component of the City's wastewater system. It lifts all incoming wastewater into the treatment process, and continuous, reliable operation is necessary to maintain regulatory compliance, protect public health, and prevent service interruptions.
Although the facility was comprehensively upgraded in 1999, several components are now experiencing age-related deterioration, operational wear, and increasing maintenance needs. Evaluations have identified structural, mechanical, electrical, and operational deficiencies that require both immediate attention and long-term rehabilitation.
Phase I focuses on immediate improvements and operational risk reduction. This phase includes project kickoff and investigations, preparation of a Technical Memorandum, development of contract documents for temporary pumping systems, rehabilitation of the grit removal system, and construction administration services. The purpose of Phase I is to address urgent deficiencies, restore reliability, and maintain continuous operations, particularly during peak flow and hurricane seasons.
Phase II consists of long-term planning and design services. This phase includes preparation of a Basis of Design Report, detailed design for pump and structural rehabilitation, electrical and ventilation system upgrades, permitting coordination, and bidding and award support. Phase II wil...
