Explanation:
The City of Hollywood, Florida ("City") is participating with Broward County, Florida ("County") in the Integrated Water Resources Plan (IWRP) for a 50% cost-sharing grant for landscape irrigation at the Sheridan Street Project.
As part of the IWRP program, it is necessary for the County and the City to enter into an Interlocal Agreement to be recorded in the Public Records of Broward County, Florida.
The City Operates the Southern Wastewater Treatment Plan, which treats approximately 42 million gallons per day of raw wastewater from Hollywood, Hallandale Beach, Dania Beach, Pembroke Pines, Pembroke Park, and portions of unincorporated Broward County, and disposes of treated wastewater through deep well injection, beneficial reuse, and through an ocean outfall into the Atlantic Ocean. This project will expand the City's existing reclaimed water system by providing up to 30,000 gallons per day of additional reclaimed water for landscaping.
The City wishes to provide the necessary assurances to Broward County as part of the Interlocal Agreement that the obligations set forth within the Integrated Water Resource Plan (IWRP) will be incorporated as part of this project.
