Explanation:
February is National Black History Month which honors African American achievements and recognizes their significant roles in United States history.
Since 1928, The Association for the Study of African American Life and History has provided a national theme for Black History Month, and this year’s theme is “A Century of Black History Commemoration.”
The proclamation will be accepted by Joann Fullington-Reese, Chair of the African American Council.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of this Proclamation will not fiscally impact the City.
