Constructed in 1925 by Hollywood founder Joseph Young, the hotel served for decades as the social and tourism centerpiece of Hollywood Beach, hosting visitors, conventions, and community events. Over time, however, the property underwent several changes, including wartime military use, institutional use, and ultimately conversion into a condominium and timeshare structure in the 1980s. These transitions, combined with fragmented ownership and evolving regulatory conditions, contributed to the property's gradual decline.
Today, the site is vacant and deteriorating, with documented structural and building envelope issues and a pending review before the Unsafe Structures Board.
