Explanation:
The Department of Public Utilities ("DPU") Southern Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant ("SRWWTP") utilizes a chlorine treatment system, a process that is a critical regulatory requirement for the disinfection of treated wastewater prior to discharge. To make sure the system remains fully functional the SRWWTP desires to purchase a preventative maintenance and emergency services contract for the chlorine facility at the SRWWTP. The preventative maintenance and emergency services are vital to the operation of the chlorine facility as the equipment provides chlorine delivery to the ocean outfall and the reuse water system which is utilized for irrigation of golf courses, parks, and roadways.

The DPU has determined that services from Water Treatment and Controls Technology ("WTCT") are required for preventative maintenance contract and that they are the sole provider of the required services. This information was confirmed and documented by the sole source authorization letter provided by Evoqua Water Technologies dated October 6, 2023.

Notice to Sole Source Number NTSS-135-24 was posted electronically on OpenGov from October 25, 2023 through November 2, 2023, and received no inquiries. The contract will run from December 6, 2023 through September 30, 2024 for an annual amount up to $249,239.00.
