Explanation:
In the State of Florida’s 2025-2026 Fiscal Year budget process, the State of Florida, through the Department of Elder Affairs, appropriated funding in the amount of $228,000.00 to the City.
The grant funds will be utilized to continue the senior citizen recreation programs and services, including educational, cultural enrichment, and field trips and tours, and will be offered through the Fred Lippman Multi-Purpose Center.
This Resolution seeks to amend the Fiscal Year 2025 Operating Budget and provide authorization to recognize and appropriate funding for the Areawide Council of Aging of Broward County Elder Grant as detailed in the attached Exhibit “1.”

If approved, grant funding in the amount of $228,000.00 will be appropriated in the FY 2025 Operating Budget for the Areawide Council On Aging Of Broward County, Inc. Elder Grant as detailed in Exhibit 1.
