Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:

The Police Department desires to partner with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation ("FWC") Commission to address the removal and proper disposal of derelict vessels from waterways. The Police Department’s Marine Patrol Division oversees the enforcement of the waterway regulations within the City.   The FWC grant program allows the City to apply on a case-by-case basis for vessel removal.  The grant is competitive and funding amounts have not been determined.

Fiscal Impact:

If approved, grant funding in an amount not to exceed $316,250.00 will be appropriated in the FY 2023 Operating Budget for the FWC Derelict Vessel Removal Grant Program as detailed in Exhibit 1.
