Citizens Award of Merit: Public Works Beach Safety employees are recognized for their extraordinary actions and immediate response to a life-threatening water emergency on July 16, 2026.
Citizens Award of Merit and Lifesaving Award: Off-duty Battalion Chief Robert Raynor and retired Division Chief Diana DeAbreau are recognized for their quick recognition of a patient experiencing cardiac arrest while working out at a LA Fitness gym on September 4, 2026. Their immediate initiation of CPR and use of an AED were instrumental in saving the patient's life
