Explanation:
This year, Fire Prevention Week will focus on lithium-ion battery safety and safe charging practices. Lithium-ion batteries power everyday devices but can cause serious fires if damaged, improperly charged, or overheated.
The proclamation will be accepted by Fire Marshal Jeff Lucas and the Fire Prevention Officers.
The proclamation will be presented at the October 7, 2026, City Commission meeting.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of this proclamation will not fiscally impact the City.
