Explanation:

December 11, 2019, X.F., a minor, by and through his parent and natural guardian Crystal Barela, filed a civil action against the City of Hollywood, for damages arising out of an automobile accident that occurred on May 10, 2019 (Case Number CACE-19-025421). X.F., a minor, by and through his parent and natural guardian Crystal Barela, alleges that he was injured as a result of an automobile accident involving a City of Hollywood owned vehicle. X.F., a minor, by and through his parent and natural guardian Crystal Barela’s, claim is for personal injuries. The City Attorney and X.F., a minor, by and through his parent and natural guardian Crystal Barela’s attorney, have negotiated a settlement in the amount of $85,000.00. If this settlement is approved by the City Commission, the monies will be paid from the City’s self-insurance fund. The City Attorney recommends that the City Commission approve the negotiated settlement.

 

 

Fiscal Impact:

Funding for this settlement is available in the City’s Self-Insurance Fund.
