Explanation:
In a City of Hollywood Special Election held on March 12, 2019, voters approved a variety of projects to be funded by a General Obligation Bond. The New Police Headquarters was approved as one of the projects to be funded. A new radio tower will be required adjacent to the New Police Headquarters project to allow for continuity of essential communications for both the City's Public Service Radios and the Police Department's Real Time Crime Center.

The new radio tower will be required regardless of the proposed location of the New Police Headquarters building, because the existing tower does not meet current requirements for essential facilities and is past its anticipated design life.

The General Obligation Bond did not include the design or construction of the radio tower in the project scope or funding; the Police Headquarters Radio Tower is funded through Capital Improvement Plan funds.

On September 1, 2021, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2021-208, approving and authorizing the appropriate City officials to execute Continuing Service Agreements with various engineering firms, one of them being G.M. Selby, Inc., to provide various engineering services including Engineering Services for Technology, Access, and closed circuit television ("CCTV").

The Department of Design and Construction Management ("DCM") previously contracted with G.M. Selby for a study phase contract for this project and is very pleased with their work and proactive coordination with the New Police Headquarte...
