Explanation:
February is National Black History Month which honors African American achievements and recognizes their significant roles in United States history.
Since 1928, The Association for the Study of African American Life and History has provided a national theme for Black History Month, and this year’s theme is “African American and the Arts.”
The proclamation will be accepted by Ms. Joann Fullington Reese, Chair of the African-American Advisory Board.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of this Proclamation will not fiscally impact the City.
