Explanation
In March 2019, a special election was held whereby a majority of the voters approved a General Obligation Bond (Go Bond) that would fund a variety of projects; the Gateway and Neighborhood Monuments Sign Project being one of the approved projects.
The Department of Design and Construction Management ("DCM") and the City's Community Development Agency ("CRA") are collaborating on their respective signage projects as the best course of action to ensure unification of the Citywide signage solutions.
The City procured the design firm of Brooks and Scarpa to design the new signage and complete a design criteria package.
The City desires to enter into a contract with a qualified firm to provide services that will include, permitting, fabrication, installation, and retrofitting of the gateway and wayfinding signage throughout the City as identified under the Go Bond-approved scope of work.
Section 38.43 of the Procurement Code states that when the estimated annual cost of goods, supplies, materials, equipment, or services exceeds $50,000.00, a formal solicitation process shall be completed that may result in a written contract(s) and/or purchase order(s) after due public notice inviting bids or proposals.
On February 21, 2024, Request for Proposals No. RFP-174-24-GJ ("RFP") was electronically advertised on OpenGov.com to solicit the desired services, in accordance with Section 38.43(A) of the Procurement Code.
