A Resolution Of The City Commission Of The City Of Hollywood, Florida, Approving And Authorizing The Appropriate City Officials To Apply For And If Awarded, Accept The Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization's Complete Streets And Other Localized Initiatives Program Grant, To Implement Transportation Projects Relating To Traffic Calming, Bicycle Facilities, Pedestrian Level Lighting, Drainage And Other Pedestrian Safety Improvements Specifically For The Following Areas: 1) Tyler Street From Young Circle To North 21 Avenue; And 2) Multiple Traffic Calming Devices And Roundabouts In Various City Locations Identified By The City's Traffic Calming Master Plan In An Amount Not To Exceed $3,000,000.00 For Each Project, And If Successfully Awarded Committing Matching Funds Estimated At 25% Of Total Costs For Each Project, Together With The Applicable Operating And Maintenance Costs Once The Projects Are Completed; Further Authorizing The Appropriate City Officials To Execute All Applicable Program Documents And Agreement(s); Acknowledging That The Projects Will Be Delivered As A Local Agency Program Project.

Explanation:
The Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (Broward MPO) has adopted Commitment 2045, their Metropolitan Transportation Plan ("MTP") and has funding available from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). This has set the stage for a streamlined program to fund local mobility projects where the Broward MPO has established the Complete Streets and Other Localized Initiatives Program (CSLIP).
Under the CSLIP, the City of Hollywood intends to submit two grant applications in November 2021 for two projects that are within the Program's construction limit of $3,000,000.00 for each project. Upon completion of the projects, the City will be responsible for operating and maintenance costs.
