Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:

This request is only to change the name of the plat.

On August 30, 2023, the City Commission approved a Plat, known as the “MENA” Plat, for property generally located at 807 N. 24th Avenue (R-2023-245).

After a local municipality approves a plat, Broward County is also required to approve the plat. During the County’s review of this Plat, it was discovered there is already a plat named “MENA” in the County, and therefore the subject property is required to change the plat name.  With Broward County Staff’s consent, the applicant is proposing the name to be “MENAH21”.  This request is only to change the name of the plat.  Broward County Commission is expected to consider the plat for final approval shortly after the City.

BACKGROUND

On September 12, 2023, the Planning and Development Board approved the Design and Site Plan for a 4-story, 21-unit residential development at this location.

As part of the development requirements, platting is necessary for the parcel. On September 14, 2023, Pulice Land Surveyors, Inc. acting on behalf of the owner, submitted a request to rename the plat from “MENA” to “MENAH 21”, attached as Exhibit “A”.

Staff has confirmed Broward County agrees with the proposed renaming.

Fiscal Impact:

Approval of this resolution will not fiscally impact the City.
