Explanation:
The Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA") finds the need to improve the flooding conditions on the barrier island and State Road A1A ("A1A"), a Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") right of way, is situated on a barrier island that separates the Atlantic Ocean from the Intracoastal Waterway and is designated as a hurricane evacuation route.

The City approached FDOT to address this ongoing challenge by installing four stormwater pump stations along A1A located approximately at the intersections of Franklin Street, Sherman Street, Van Buren Street and Azalea Terrace. These pump stations will serve jurisdictions of multiple entities including Broward County, FDOT, the City, and the CRA Beach District.

It was agreed that the participating entities would share the cost of design and construction of the four pump stations based on each entity's stormwater contributing area.

On July 7, 2021, the CRA Board adopted Resolution No. R-CRA-2021-36 approving funding for the design and construction of three pump stations within CRA Beach District.
