Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

 

 

Explanation:

The Police Department is requesting authorization to expend Federal (Justice) Law Enforcement Forfeiture Funds in the amount of $200,000.00.  The funds will be used for training, the purchase of law enforcement commemorative badges for the City’s centennial, and law enforcement equipment, specifically ammunition.

 

 

Fiscal Impact:

The Law Enforcement Forfeiture Fund received sufficient funding in prior years to allocate the requested $200,000.00.  Funding will be made available in the Fiscal Year 2024 Operating Budget as detailed in Exhibit 1, subject to the approval of this resolution.
