Explanation:
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts ("PRCA") has determined the need for improvements and renovations of park properties within the community to meet a variety of parks and recreation interests.
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection, 2026 - 2027 Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program ("FRDAP") grant is available for the acquisition or development of public recreation facilities.
The FRDAP grant seeks the maximum $200,000.00 for improvements to Carlton Montayne Park to include, without limitation; renovation of the playground, pathways, pavilions, landscape and park furnishings.
The Director of PRCA recommends the City Commission authorize the appropriate City officials to accept, if awarded, the FRDAP grant funds in the amount of $200,000.00 for Carlton Montayne Park Improvement project.
Fiscal Impact:
If approved, grant funding in the amount of $200,000.00 will be appropriated in the Fiscal Year 2026 Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Plan for improvements to Carlton Montayne Park as detailed in Exhibit "1."
Funding for the City's required match is available in the amended FY 2026 Capital Improvement Plan in account number 334.309901.57200.564530.001900.000.000.
