Explanation:
The Smart Growth Partnership (SGP) will present the City of Hollywood with the 2018 Smart Growth Excellence Award in honor of the Regional Activity Center (RAC) Rezoning. These awards honor public-and private-sector entities that successfully use smart growth principles to improve communities environmentally, socially and economically.
The City has demonstrated that this project is encouraging the use of smart growth principles by promoting attractive and functional mixed-use to strengthen and direct development towards existing communities, fostering mixed-use neighborhoods, providing a range of housing opportunities and encouraging stakeholder, community and regional collaboration
This project will be recognized at the Smart Growth Partnership’s Annual Event to be held in the spring of 2019.
