Explanation:

On May 1, 2024, the City Commission approved O-2024-05 creating Chapter 78 of the Code of Ordinances entitled Speed Detection Systems in School Zones. Broward County owns the portions of North 21st Avenue, Davie Road Extension and Sheridan Street where the City desires to install Automated Speed Detection Systems and is willing to provide the City nonexclusive access and use of the areas to install, operate and maintain Automated Speed Detection Systems.

 

 

Fiscal Impact:

Revenues and expenditures associated with the School Speed Zone Program are included in the adopted FY 2026 Operating budget of the Police Department.
