Body

Staff Recommends Approval of attached Resolution.

Explanation:
The non-profit Community Enhancement Collaboration, Inc. ("CEC") has provided essential services to the Washington Park community since the organization's inception in 2004. CEC has served as a stabilizing force in a previously troubled neighborhood and the organization has been a valuable partner for neighborhood outreach, community empowerment and neighborhood transformation.

On March 1, 2018, the City of Hollywood and CEC entered into an agreement for CEC to provide community services to benefit residents of the Washington Park community. The Lease Agreement expired on March 1, 2023, and the parties desire to execute a new lease.

The attached new Lease Agreement between the City of Hollywood and CEC provides for a lease term of five years with the option to renew for one additional five-year term and it has been negotiated and agreed to by the parties subject to approval by the City Commission.

Fiscal Impact:
The City will receive a rental payment of One Dollar ($1.00) per year, payable on the yearly anniversary of the Lease Agreement.

For any year in which the City is required to pay property taxes because of the Lease, CEC shall pay the City, as additional rent, the amount of such property taxes that is directly attributable to this Lease. Payment is due within 30 days after the City submits an invoice to CEC.
