Title

A Resolution Of The City Commission Of The City Of Hollywood, Florida, Rejecting Proposals For RFQ-172-24-SK Related To Network Infrastructure Consultant Services.

Strategic Plan Focus

Public Safety

Body

Staff Recommends: The Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:

The Police Department previously identified a need to enhance its aged network infrastructure. In 2024, a solicitation was advertised for a qualified consultant to assess the network and provide services. A selection committee reviewed six proposals, and three vendors were shortlisted and ranked by the committee. The Commission, via R-2024-269, ranked respondents and authorized negotiations.  Negotiations with two of the ranked vendors were unsuccessful, and the vendors were deemed non-responsible and over budget.

Industry-wide, there have been technology advancements and brand diversification.  As a result, the Police Department identified alternative options to enhance its technology that did not require a significant investment in infrastructure. The Police Department has been expanding its technology without the need for a consultant and will continue to invest in technology focused on Public Safety.

Fiscal Impact:

Approval of the attached resolution will not fiscally impact the City as this is a proposal to cancel the Solicitation.
