Explanation:
The Department of Public Utilities proposes the acquisition of a new TV inspection vehicle, which is essential for identifying blockages, structural issues, and preventing costly failures in underground utilities. The current truck and equipment are outdated and inadequate for operational needs. Field consideration confirms that a new truck will ensure reliable performance, reduce downtime, and improve efficiency in maintaining critical infrastructure.
The requested TV inspection truck is contained within a Ford Transit Cargo Van (148" Extended Length High Roof), 9,500 GVWR, automatic transmission, gas engine, and an Envirosight: VeriSight Ultra Push Camera (Length of camera run 200'). This equipment will be utilized for televised inspection of sewer mainlines and laterals and for inspection and support of stormwater system maintenance.
The desired TV Truck and Push Camera were competitively bid by Sourcewell, a government cooperative, and were awarded to Environmental Products Group, Inc. (EPG) on December 26. 2022, via Contract 120721-EVS.
The current term of Sourcewell contract #120721-EVS is from January 26, 2022, through January 17, 2026, and extended until January 17, 2027.
