Title
A Resolution Of The City Commission Of The City Of Hollywood, Florida, Authorizing An Estimated Expenditure Not To Exceed $261,176.00 For The City’s Efforts To Evaluate Circ As A Viable Alternative Site To West Lake Park For The Placement Of P25 Equipment; Amending The Fiscal Year 2019 Adopted Operating Budget (R-2018-301).
Body
Staff Recommends: For Consideration.
Explanation:
The City Commission Agenda has three companion items for the Commission to consider relative to evaluating Circ as a viable alternative site to West Lake Park for the placement of P25 Equipment.
1. Interlocal Agreement (ILA)
2. Authorization of expenditures for ILA
3. Rescinding of the Site Plan decision
Should the Commission enter into the ILA funding will be needed immediately. The ILA identifies a 50/50 split with Broward County for payments to Circ and the third party expert. The City will be required to retain the City’s Consultant, G.M. Selby, and cover 100% of their cost. A 10% ($23,743) contingency has also been factored in.
This item authorizes expenditures for the ILA, which the City’s portion is currently estimated at $261,176.00:
Circ (arrears) $60,000.00
Circ (prospective) $60,000.00
G.M. Selby (expenditure as of May 8, 2019) $15,433.00
G.M. Selby (expected expenditure) $42,000.00
Third Party per ILA $60,000.00
10% Contingency $23,743
It should be noted, should Circ be the chosen site by the third party independent expert, the ILA requires additional future funding commitment(s) by the City. See companion item for detailed information.
