Explanation:
The Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") has jurisdiction over State Road ("SR") 820/Hollywood Boulevard as part of the continual updating of the State of Florida Highway System and, for the purpose of safety, protection of the investment, FDOT will be constructing new improvements under project number FM-447654-1-52-01 within the limits of the City.
The City requested the installation, by FDOT, of additional, new decorative or non-standard lights along a portion of SR 820 within the FDOT's right-of-way.
Upon completion of the project, the City will be responsible for maintenance of certain elements as set forth in the attached Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement ("MMOA").
The MMOA, dated February 8th, 2022, shall be amended to extend the City's maintenance limits to include the additional areas of SR 820 from milepost ("MP") 0.000 to MP 0.289, and MP 18.394 to MP 19.956, as shown in Exhibit A of the agreement.
The Director of Public Works and the Director of Design and Construction Management recommend that City officials approve and execute the attached MMOA Amendment Number One between the City and FDOT.
The maintenance of all decorative lighting improvements will commence upon completion of the installation of planned improvements which is anticipated to be FY 2026.
