Explanation:
On January 8, 1992 (Resolution R-92-006), the City and the Hollywood Art and Culture Center, Inc., entered into a 49 year Business Lease Agreement for the premises owned by the City located at 1650 Harrison Street and 1628 Harrison Street. The City is desirous of continuing to lease the subject properties to the Hollywood Art and Culture Center, Inc., upon certain terms and conditions stated in the amended and revised lease agreement.
The Hollywood Art and Culture Center, Inc. uses the leased properties for programs, activities, classes and exhibits created and designed to promote and enhance art and cultural experiences for the City and surrounding communities.
Both the City and Hollywood Art and Culture Center, Inc., wish to continue this beneficial partnership and execute an Amended and Restated Lease Agreement. Agreement amendments include; housekeeping of dated language and sections, extends term of lease by eight years, provides clear direction on maintenance responsibilities and associated expense thresholds, confirms a building assessment and timeframe and speaks to future construction and improvements to the property.
