Explanation:

In the State of Florida’s 2026-2027 fiscal year budget process, the State of Florida, through the Department of Elder Affairs, appropriated funding in the amount of $228,000.00 to the City.

 

This funding is directed to the City through the State of Florida Department of Elder Affairs and administered through the Area Agency on Aging of Broward County (“AAA”); and authorizes the City of Hollywood to accept, if awarded, a $228,000.00 Fred Lippman Elder Grant from the AAA, at no cost to the City.

 

The grant will support enhanced senior citizen recreation programs at the Fred Lippman Multi-Purpose Center, including educational activities, cultural enrichment, field trips, and tours.

 

 

Fiscal Impact:

If approved, grant funding in the amount of $228,000 will be appropriated in the Fiscal Year 2026 Operating Budget for the Fred Lippman Elder Grant as detailed in Exhibit 1.
