Explanation:
The Department of Public Works has identified a need to replace the high roof above the fourth floor on the Police Headquarters Building. Specifications and details to replace the roof were prepared by City staff and the Notice to Bidders was issued on May 8, 2014. A Mandatory Pre-bid Meeting was held at the site on May 22, 2014 and sixteen (16) contractors reviewed the existing conditions on the roof. Six (6) bids were received and publicly opened on May 30, 2014. The responsive bids are shown on the attached Bid Tabulation Sheet. The administration found the bid submitted by Precision Roofing Corp., to be responsive and responsible and recommend the award of this Contract in the amount of $176,900.00. The price includes a twenty (20) year NDL (no dollar limit) non-prorated warranty to be provided by the material supplier. In 2012 Precision Roofing Corp. successfully completed for the City of Hollywood a much larger reroofing job on the MS/RO Building at the Water Treatment Plant. Funding for this project will become available upon the adoption and approval of the resolution amending the FY 2014 Capital Improvement Plan scheduled for the Commission agenda on June 18, 2014 and funding is to be allocated in an account to be created by the Department of Financial Services.
