Explanation:
The City wants to evaluate redevelopment options for 22 acres of the 32 acre HIAD site on South Park Road. The City solicited a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to hire an engineering and environmental services firm. On January 7, 2015, through Resolution R-2015-008 the City Commission authorized the negotiation and execution of a contract with the highest ranked firm which was Langan Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc. Earlier today on the City Commission Agenda was an item to authorize the appropriate City Officials to execute a Professional Services Agreement with our consultant. Our consultant Langan Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc. will prepare an engineering feasibility study for the redevelopment of the site. The feasibility study will evaluate the geotechnical, environmental, economic and planning aspects of various development options. The initial proposal from Langan Engineering and Environment Services is for $205,700.00. If based on the analysis of the initial testing it becomes apparent that additional testing and additional borings must be done, the cost could rise to $240,000.00.
