Explanation:

The Hollywood Fire Rescue and Beach Safety Department needs to purchase Lucas Devices (CPR machines) to deliver emergency services.

Lucas Devices are an easy-to-use mechanical chest compression device that assists lifesaving teams around the world, delivers high quality and guidelines-consistent chest compressions to sudden cardiac arrest patients. There are several mechanical chest compressors on the market; however, the Lucas Device is the best fit and meets the needs for the Department. The Department has been using this device since 2016. The necessary training has been instituted in the Department and personnel have become proficient with excellent results. This device is also compatible with our Life-Pak 15’s (EKG/Defibrillators) and allows the compression data to be recorded and reviewed for enhanced Quality Assurance. This device is part of the City’s cardiac resuscitation plan of action which includes EMS Protocols, the Life-Pak 15 (EKG/Defibrillator), and CODESTAT cardiac arrest review software.
