Explanation:

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts has determined the need for improvements and renovations at Oakridge Park. The 37-acre park located in District 4 includes a dog park, pavilions, walking path and playground facilities.

 

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection in the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program is accepting applications for the 2023-2024 Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program Grant for the acquisition or development of public recreation facilities.

 

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts would like to accept these funds if awarded for these improvements. If awarded, this grant requires a 50% match from the City.

 

Fiscal Impact:

If awarded and approved, grant funding in the amount of $200,000.00 will be appropriated in the FY 2023 Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Plan for Oakridge Park as detailed in Exhibit 1. Funding for the required grant match is available account number 117.309901.57200.563010.001556.000.000.
