Explanation:
The Quartermaster Section and the Property and Evidence Unit of the Hollywood Police Department are in dire need of replacing the current physical property, evidence and Quartermaster management software. The software that is currently in use is part of the Broward County Sheriff's consortium and is shared with other agencies in the County. The Broward Sheriff's Office, and/or other agencies within the consortium, will often times make changes and/or updates to the software, and the Hollywood Police Department is not notified about the changes in a timely manner. These changes affect the business practice, and may not always be in the best interest of the Hollywood Police Department. Any recommendation for a change to the software must go through the Governance Board, which is an arduous task. As a result, the software has not been refreshed for quite some time and is outdated.

The audit capability of the currency component of the current software is non-existent, which is a concern because currency is a high liability item. A Selection Committee was formed to identify new standalone software which would address the concerns and necessities of the Property and Evidence Unit and the Quartermaster Section, and after site visits and web demos, Que Tel was unanimously selected by the Committee members.
