Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

 

Explanation:

The purpose of the Civil Service Board is to serve as an appellate review board relating to employee suspensions, demotions, or terminations, and as an appellate review board for testing, promotion, or placement challenges.

 

The Civil Service Board is comprised of five members.  The five members are as follows:

1.                     Zulma Collazo who is a member currently employed or previously employed by the private sector in the area of personnel administration.

2.                     Jalane Meloun who is a member currently employed or previously employed by the private sector, and not part of management of their employer.

3.                     David Bennett who is a member currently employed or previously employed by the private sector and part of the management of their employer.

4.                     Samuel Bentolila who is a member who is self-employed or previously self-employed.

5.                     Mitchell Anton who is a member currently employed or previously employed by a public employer. 

 

There is one term on the Civil Service Board expiring on June 30, 2024, the current incumbent and position is Samuel Bentolila, serving as an individual self-employed or previously self-employed.

 

 

Fiscal Impact:

Approval of this Resolution will not fiscally impact the City.
