Explanation:
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts (“PRCA”) requires an Agreement (“Agreement”) for a qualified concert/special event producer or qualified group or professional producer to coordinate the Centennial Celebration musical performances on November 22, 2025 to be held in the ArtsPark at Young Circle.
For more than 15 years Rhythm Foundation, Inc. (“Rhythm Foundation”) has produced live events at ArtsPark, and is the foremost presenter of world music and cultural events in South Florida, with a three-decade history of presenting over 500 outstanding international artists throughout the region.
As producer of the Centennial Celebration concert, Rhythm Foundation will be booking Dreamland Jazz Orchestra as the opening act, and Kool and the Gang as the headline act. They will handle all requirements for both bands including transportation, hotel accommodations, sound and lighting and hospitality.
The Director of PRCA and Chief Procurement Officer recommend that the City Commission approve and authorize the execution of a Centennial Celebration Agreement with Rhythm Foundation to provide services in an amount up to $219,005.00.
Fiscal Impact:
A portion of the funding for this agreement is available in the FY 2025 Operating budget in Account Number 001.300601.57200.549110.000000.000.000 and will be budgeted in next fiscal year’s operating budget subject to approval and adoption by the City Commission.
