Explanation:
The 2007/2008 Wastewater System Master Plan identified the need to implement a City-wide program to rehabilitate and to upgrade several existing and City-owned sanitary sewer lift stations.
Lift stations A-10 and A-11, located respectively at 6951 Fillmore Street and 7415 McKinley Street, were included in the Wastewater System Master Plan as lift stations to be upgraded.
On April 16, 2014, via Resolution R-2014-092, the City Commission approved a proposal from AECOM, in the amount of $102,750.00, to provide professional engineering services related to the design, permitting, bidding and construction services for the lift stations A-10 and A-11.
On March 23, 2015, Department of Public Utilities staff advertised the project soliciting qualified construction services, and on April 30, 2015, five (5) bid proposals were received at the Office of the City Clerk and were publicly opened at the City of Hollywood Southern Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant with the following results:

After thoroughly evaluating the bid proposals for compliance with the contract documents, AECOM staff determined that GPE Engineering & General Contractors Corp. is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
A Notice of Intent to Award related to the project was posted on the City of Hollywood Website and on DemandStar on May 4, 2015 and resulted in no bid protests.
The Administration recommends that the City Commission authorize the appropriate City Officials to execute the attached contract between GPE Engineering & General Contractors Corp. and the City of Hollywood for the Lift Station Conversion/Upgrade Program for Lift Stations A-10 and A-11, in the amount of $1,097,606.00.
A portion of the funding for this project in the amount of $36,706.00 has been provided via Resolution No. R-2014-301 which continued the appropriation for previously approved Capital Projects from FY 2014 to FY 2015.
Funding for this project in the amount of $1,060,900.00 was included in the FY 2015 Capital Improvement Program that was approved via Resolution No. R-2014-356.
The funding is available in account number 42.4000.86871.536.016301.
The estimated time to complete the construction services will be six (6) months from the Notice to Proceed date.
