Explanation:

The Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") desires certain beautification improvements to Hollywood Boulevard between N. 21st Avenue and State Road 5 (Young Circle/Federal Highway/US1) and 20th and 19th Avenues between Tyler Street and Harrison Street to enhance the downtown core aesthetics, promote redevelopment and improve the pedestrian experience.

The CRA’s Hollywood Boulevard Streetscape project includes the construction of hardscape, lighting, landscape, irrigation, drainage and roadway improvements within the public right of way of the Downtown District.

On October 4, 2021, the CRA issued  Request for Qualifications No. RFQ 4692-21-GJ, to provide professional architectural and engineering services through continuing services agreements for the Downtown and Beach Districts of the CRA.

On March 2, 2022, the CRA Board passed and adopted Resolution R-CRA-2022-08, authorizing the appropriate CRA officials to execute agreements with the five highest ranked firms, attached as Exhibit “A”.

Bermello Ajamil & Partners, LLC (“Bermello”) was one of the five highest ranked firms and on June 8, 2022, the CRA executed a professional continuing services agreement with Bermello, attached as Exhibit “B”.

The CRA requested Bermello to develop a design concept for the Project, attached as Exhibit “C” and on July 3, 2024, Bermello presented the design concept to the CRA Board.  In the months of July and August of 2024, the CRA met with business and property owners along Harrison Street for their input on the concept plan.

The CRA requested a proposal from Bermello for professional architectural and engineering services for the Project utilizing the same terms and conditions of the Hollywood Boulevard Streetscape Project. Services to be accomplish under this proposal will include, but not be limited, to preparation of updated surveys, construction drawings, permitting, construction administration and other related task.
