Explanation:
Section 98.050, of the Hollywood Code of Ordinances provides for the construction and/or location of boat docks on City property along portions of North and South Lake.
 
The use of the public lands for a boat dock is subject to a Boat Dock Lease Agreement (the Lease) with the City and is limited to the owner of property directly adjacent to the dock locations.
 
The Lessees are the owners of residential properties that had approved Leases which expired on September 30, 2014. The Lessees have requested a Lease with the City for the continued use of the existing boat docks. Lessees include: M.H Burnstein of 823 North Southlake Drive, Kenneth Carman of 827 North Northlake Drive, Doris Edelman of 712 South Southlake Drive, John Fontanella of 747 North Northlake Drive, Charles Deanuracos of 800 South Southlake, William Hernandez of 833 North Northlake Drive, Rosemary and Corol Cianfrani of 707 North Northlake Drive, Dr. Zachary Schlaff of 828 South Southlake, Ronald Wise of 815 North Southlake Drive and Patricia Zizlsperger of 711 North Southlake Drive.
 
Section 98.0501 (B) of the Hollywood Code of Ordinances provides for an annual lease fee, plus rental tax, adjusted annually based on the Consumer Price Index of which the current annual fee is $585.27.
 
Section 98.029(E) of the Code of Ordinances requires Lessees to maintain Public Liability Insurance covering the Lease property and the boat dock structure, naming the City as an additional insured, in an amount not less than $500,000.00.
 
The term of each Lease shall be for four (4) years commencing on October 1, 2014 and ending on September 30, 2018 and may be renewed for additional four (4) years each by the City Manager without further application to the City Commission.
