Explanation:
The Department of Public Utilities requires chlorine, liquid in cylinders.
The required chlorine, liquid in cylinders were competitively bid by City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as the lead agency for the Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Cooperative Group which the City of Hollywood is a participant.
City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida’s solicitation number ITB12288-393 was opened on June 20, 2019, and awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Allied Universal Corporation, for a two year initial term and two additional one year renewal periods.
Allied Universal Corporation is currently providing similar services to the City in a satisfactory manner.
The Interim Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Procurement & Contract Compliance recommend that the City Commission approve the issuance of a blanket purchase order for Chlorine, Liquid in Cylinders to Allied Universal Corporation in an estimated annual amount of $256,000.00.
The Director of Procurement Services is authorized to join with other governmental entities in cooperative purchasing plans pursuant to Section 38.46 of the Purchasing Ordinance.
Award is subject and contingent upon the City of Fort Lauderdale final award of contract for chlorine, liquid in cylinders.
Award is subject to the City’s receipt and approval of all insurance certificates required by the City’s Risk Manager.
Funding for the purchase has been appropriated and exists in account numbers 442.400601.53600.552330.000000.000.000.
