Explanation:
The Department of Public Utilities (“Department”) is responsible for operating and maintaining drainage infrastructure throughout the City of Hollywood. The area around Sunset Golf Course, located at 2727 Johnson Street, has experienced significant periodic flooding. The Department recommended restoring the flows within three golf course drainage ditches, including the removal of trees as needed to restore the flow to approximately 3,500 linear feet of ditches.
Department staff prepared bid documents and posted a Notice of Bid Availability for Bid No. IFB-093-23-JJ on OpenGov in accordance with Section 38.43(A) of the Procurement Code on May 11, 2023. Bid No. IFB-093-23-JJ was electronically opened on June 12, 2023, with the following results:

Department and Office of Procurement staff thoroughly evaluated the submitted bid in accordance with Section 38.43(F) of the City’s Procurement Code, and after the evaluation, Shenandoah General Construction, LLC was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. On June 14, 2023, a Notice of Intent to Award for this project was posted on the City’s website and on OpenGov and resulted in no bid protests.
This agenda item seeks the City Commission’s approval and authorization for the appropriate City officials to execute the attached contract with Shenandoah General Construction, LLC in an amount up to $348,910.00 for the Sunset Golf Course Ditch Cleaning Project.
Upon authorization from the City Commission, the project will be completed in 60 days from the date of the Authorization to Proceed.

Funding for this project was included in the amended FY 2023 Capital Improvement Plan and is available in account number 443.409901.53800.563010.001487.000.000.
