Explanation:
In a City of Hollywood special election held on March 12, 2019, voters approved a variety of projects to be funded by a General Obligation Bond. The Department of Design and Construction Management (DCM) has been tasked with the restoration and improvement of the Hollywood Beach golf course and club house, which was approved by the voters as one of the projects to be funded by the General Obligation Bond.
On January 20, 2021, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2021-022, ranking golf course architecture consultants selected under Request for Qualification RFQ-4652-20-DCM, and authorizing the appropriate City officials to negotiate an agreement with the highest-ranked firm, RMGA, Inc., d/b/a Richard Mandell Golf Architecture.
The scope of work includes golf course architecture consulting services to provide golf course architecture, irrigation design and landscape architecture services for the renovation of 18-hole golf course, on the site of the current Hollywood Beach Golf Course facility. RMGA will work closely with the selected Architecture and Engineering firm to provide a unified drawings package for permitting and construction that will include the golf course and clubhouse.
The Department of Design and Construction Management, in coordination with the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts and the Procurement Division, negotiated a project scope and fee with the top-ranked firm RMGA, Inc., d/b/a Richard Mandell Golf Architecture for an amount not to exceed $356,205.00, that staff has determined to be fair and reasonable and in accordance with industry standards.
The Director of DCM recommends that the City Commission approve and authorize the appropriate City officials to execute the attached Professional Services Agreement with RMGA, Inc., d/b/a Richard Mandell Golf based upon the proposal set forth in the attached Exhibit “A” that will be included in the agreement.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding for this project was included in the amended FY2021 Capital Improvement Plan, and is available in account number 333.309901.57200.563010.001194.000.000.
