Explanation:
On March 3, 2021, pursuant to Resolution No. R-2021-053, the City Commission approved and authorized the execution of interlocal agreements related to Surtax-funded projects, including Drainage Improvements in Washington Industrial Park. The project area is bounded by North 56th Avenue to the west, State Road 7 to the east, Rodman Street to the south, and Washington Street to the north with a total project amount of up to $5,000,000.00.
On July 3, 2023, Broward County and the City entered into an Interlocal Agreement for Surtax-Funded Municipal Transportation Project for the Washington Industrial Park and Corridor Improvements - Paving, Grading, and Roadway Drainage (“ILA HOLL-064”).
On July 3, 2024, pursuant to Resolution No. R-2024-261, the City Commission approved and authorized the execution of a contract with Man-Con, Inc. to provide construction services for the Washington Park Utilities Improvements Project including the scope for Agreement ILA HOLL-064, in an amount up to $27,024,355.88.
On September 25, 2024, ILA HOLL-064 was amended to include the potential for a reimbursable inflation adjustment, increasing the maximum amount from $5,000,000.00 to $5,595,000.00.
The Department of Public Utilities Director and the Chief Procurement Officer recommend that the City Commission approve and authorize the City Manager or designee to accept Amendment No. 1 to Broward County ILA HOLL-064 in the amount of $595,000.00 and to approve Change Order No. 1 to increase the Contract Amount for additional drainage improvements work.
Fiscal Impact
Grant funding in the amount of $595,000.00 will be appropriated in the FY 2025 Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Plan as detailed in Exhibit 1.
Department of Public Utilities staff will manage this project. No additional staff are needed as a result of this project.
