Explanation:

The City of Hollywood Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts hosted the first Hollywood “Skate Off” Competition at Stan Goldman Skate Park on Saturday, August 15, 2015.

 

Skaters from surrounding cities joined a large group of hometown Hollywood skaters comprising the sixty registered participants in the competition. The Knights of Columbus (Hollywood Council No. 4851) generously sponsored food and beverages for participants and patrons. Hollywood Kia sponsored the Best Trick contest, awarding gift cards to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Event sponsors providing various product prizes included Lake Skateboards, Amaxon LLC, BC Surf & Sport and OH Cake Skateboards.

 

We are extremely proud to recognize the winners of the different competition categories.

 

AMATEUR AGES 7 TO 11:

1st Place:  Roman Hager, Oakland Park

2nd Place:  Burt Morrow, Davie

3rd Place:  Samuel Pucetti, Boca Raton

 

AMATEUR AGES 12 TO 15:

1st Place:  Sebastian Tucci, Hollywood

2nd Place:  Daniel Scales, North Miami

3rd Place:  Alex Handal, Hollywood

 

AMATEUR AGES 16 AND UP:

1st Place:  Enzo Juarez, Hollywood

2nd Place:  Tom Hodgson, Ft. Lauderdale

3rd Place:  Manny Benitez, Miami

 

BEST TRICK CONTEST:

1st Place:  Roman Friday performing the Laser Heel

2nd Place:  Marcos Montoya performing the Tre Flip Lipslide

3rd Place:  Manny Benitez performing the 180 Switch Nosegrind

 

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Director, Chuck Ellis, extends his thanks on behalf of the City of Hollywood to the general public and participants along with Public Works and Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts staff members who made this first Hollywood “Skate Off” competition and professional showcase a complete success.
