Explanation:
The Public Utilities Department requires an agreement for the repair of various electric motors throughout the City.
The repairs shall be classified as a rebuild or a reconditioning.
Due to the wide variety of motors possibly needing repair, pricing was required and submitted as a percentage discount off the Vaughn's Price Guide for the Repair of Electric Motors as approved by the Electrical Apparatus Service Association (E.A.S.A.) as a national average standard pricing.
On February 20, 2013, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution Number 2013-041, authorizing the issuance of a blanket purchase order to Condo Electric Motor Repair, Miami Industrial Motor and Ace Pump and Supply for the repair of electric motors in accordance with bid number F-4346-13-JE, for a one (1) year period with the option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods.
Condo Electric Motor Repair, Miami Industrial Motor and Ace Pump and Supply continue to repair electric motors for the City of Hollywood in a satisfactory manner and have all agreed to renew their respective contracts for an additional one (1) year period under the same terms, conditions and discounts of Bid Number F-4346-13-JE.
The Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Procurement Services recommend that the City Commission approve award of the attached Blanket Purchase Orders to Condo Electric Motor Repair of Hialeah, Florida, Miami Industrial Motor of Doral, Florida and Ace Pump and Supply of Hollywood, Florida for the first one (1) year renewal term with the option to renew for one (1) remaining one (1) year period in an estimated total annual expenditure of $140,000.00.
Funding for the attached blanket purchase orders have been provided for in the fiscal year 2014 budget in the Public Utilities Department's Maintenance - Machinery Account Numbers 42.4011.00765.536.004633, 42.4041.00785.536.004633, 42.4041.00785.536.004631, 42.4011.00762.536.004633, and 43.4031.00000.538.004633.
