Explanation:
The Department of Public Utilities needs assistance on financial matters that include financial analyses, rate ordinance reviews, rate comparison analyses, agreement interpretation analyses, and other similar tasks.
The Department of Public Utilities requested a proposal from Lighthouse Utility Consulting to provide support for such consulting professional services in the amount of $45,000.00.
On August 26, 2015, the City Commission approved Resolution No. R-2015-250 authorizing a Professional Services Agreement for Consulting Services with Lighthouse Utility Consulting. On April 3, 2018, this Agreement was extended for an additional three (3) years effective November 15, 2018 and expiring on November 14, 2021. Under this Agreement, Lighthouse Utility Consulting’s services include providing services to the Department of Public Utilities (DPU) related to utility rates and financial consulting services.
The Department of Public Utilities recommends that the City Commission authorize the appropriate City Officials to execute the attached Authorization To Proceed for Work Order No. LH-19-07 with Lighthouse Utility Consulting, together with nonmaterial changes as may be subsequently agreed to by the City Manager, for an amount not to exceed $45,000.00
The Department of Public Utilities staff will manage this Work Order. No additional staff is needed as a result of this project.
Fiscal Impact
The funding for the attached Authorization To Proceed for Work Order No. LH-19-07 has been appropriated and exists in account numbers 442.409901.53600.531300.000731.000.000 and 442.409901.53600.531300.000744.000.000 and was included in the FY 2020 Capital Improvement Program that was approved pursuant to Resolution R-2019-284.
