Explanation:
The Department of Public Utilities requires grit pickup and disposal services.
On October 26, 2016, Bid Number F-4537-17-RL - Grit Pickup and Disposal Services was electronically advertised via BidSync in accordance with the City’s Purchasing Ordinance, Section 38.42 (A).
Bid number F-4537-17-RL was opened at 3:00 P.M. on November 16, 2016, and resulted in responses from two (2) bidders:
Waste Pro of Florida, Inc., Longwood, FL
A.J. Panzarella, LLC DBA Panzarella Waste & Recycling Services, Weston, FL
The bid language requested each bidder provide the annual pricing for the grit pickup and disposal services.
The bid results are as follows:

$61,560.00
A.J. Panzarella, LLC DBA Panzarella Waste & Recycling Services $92,148.00
Waste Pro of Florida, Inc. has been determined to be the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.
Award is subject to the City’s receipt and approval of all insurance certificates required by the City’s Risk Manager, and indemnity to the City.
The Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Procurement & Contract Compliance recommend that the City Commission approve award of the attached Blanket Purchase Order to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Waste Pro of Florida, Inc. of Longwood, Florida.
The term of this agreement shall be for an initial two (2) year period and, by mutual agreement between the City and the awarded contractor, may be renewed for two (2) additional two (2) year periods.
Funding for the attached Blanket Purchase Order has been provided for in the fiscal year 2017 budget in the Department of Public Utilities Account Number 42.4041.00000.536.004360 and will be budgeted in subsequent fiscal years.
