Explanation:

On August 22, 2022, the desired equipment were competitively bid by the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office pursuant to RFP #BCSO 22-27-1.0, and the current term of the contract is from September 12, 2022 through September 11, 2027, for automotive pursuit vehicles, light truck and SUV’s, Medium Duty vehicles and equipment. Bradford County Sheriff’s Office subsequently entered into an agreement with Duval Ford for these vehicles and equipment.

 

On September 12, 2022, Bradford County Sheriff’s Office awarded the bid to Duval Ford and have agreed to extend to the City of Hollywood the same pricing under the terms and conditions set forth in the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office Bid and contract. The 2022 Piggyback contract is from September 12, 2022 through September 11, 2027, with a renewal option.

 

The Department of Public Works is responsible for providing plumbing and electrical maintenance and repair services for City facilities. This includes fixing and repairing building lights, air conditioning units, switches and any electrical repairs.  Plumbing also needs to be maintained and repaired for various drinking fountains, bathroom sinks, toilets and beach showers.  The City’s current vehicles used to provide these services are in dire need of replacement and are at end of useful life.

 

The Director of Public Works and the Director of the Office of Procurement and Contract Compliance recommend that the City Commission authorize the appropriate City officials to issue a purchase order to Duval Ford, for the purchase of two Ford Transit T-150 Low Roof 130” Wheelbase Cargo Vans to be used for electrical and plumbing repair needs from September 12, 2022 through September 11, 2027 subject to vendor acceptance, satisfactory performance and the determination that renewal will be in the best interest of the City, for an amount up to $106,114.67. 

 

Fiscal Impact:

Funding for this purchase is included in the amended FY 2023 Capital Improvement Plan and is available in account number 557.519901.51900.564520.000120.000.000.
